Your new role

This is a specialised role in a children’s centre based respite setting, looking after children who require support in managing their disability specific needs and at times, behaviours of concern.  You will have a proven background in high health support and behavioural management, using behaviour support practices including ABC charting, protocols, Restrictive Practices – both episodic and emergency.

You will need strong and proven leadership and people management skills to successfully manage the team of Community Support Workers supporting these customers.

Skills and experience

·          Previous experience in a Team Leader role in disability (preferred) or a similar setting

·          Experience with dual disabilities and behaviour management and associated practises and recording processes

·          Sound understanding of person centred philosophy and active support practice

·          Resilient and grounded approach 

·          Experience supporting customers with complex high health needs 

·          Strong customer service and family liaison skills

·          Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·          An influencer and good listener

 

 

 

Essential criteria:

·          You will need current South Australian DHS (Department of Human Services) clearances for both Disability Employment Services and Working With Children checks

·          Certificate IV in Disability or related experience

·          Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003)

·          Current South Australian Driver’s Licence

·          Strong Knowledge of NDIS
